REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION:
We will give you detailed instructions of any requirements needed for your scan on booking, but as a reminder:
Upper abdominal scans require clients to fast for 6 hours prior to their scan. If this causes concern, particularly relating to medication needed to be taken with food, please contact us.
Renal, pelvic and early pregnancy (5-12 weeks) scans require a full bladder - please drink approximately 2 pints of clear, non fizzy fluid, one hour prior to your scan.
For the majority of procedures you will remain in your own clothes, which will be protected from the ultrasound gel by a fresh towel. During examinations requiring the removal of garments, you will be provided with a gown or suitable covering; your respect and dignity is our highest priority.
